Shoalstone Lido - Berry Head Road, Brixham, TQ5 9FT

Shoalstone is the perfect place for a fun family day out, a quick dip or to just sit back and relax. Only a few minutes walk from Brixham and with uninterrupted views across Torbay and beyond. Set in The English Riviera UNESCO Global Geopark, Shoalstone Seawater Pool, a 53 metre ‘free to use’ sea water swimming pool, is one of only a few tidal pools left in the country. It is built into a natural rock pool that has been popular for bathing since Victorian times.

Brixham Breakwater Pier, Brixham TQ5 9AF

Protecting Brixham Harbour is the massive structure of Brixham Breakwater, stretching for half a mile offshore. It's a pleasant walk along the length, and from the far end you gain a very different perspective of the harbour and town.
Brixham Breakwater is a great spot for fishing.
During storms, some spectacular, huge waves smash over the breakwater: this makes for some great photography, but never go onto the breakwater itself in such conditions.

Breakwater Beach - Berry Head Road, Brixham, TQ5 9AJ 

You'll find this pretty little cove tucked in between Berry Head and the Brixham Marina breakwater, along the coast from the busy fishing harbour of Brixham. The water at this small shingle beach is as clean as it is clear - part of the reason the beach has been awarded a Blue Flag for the last few years.

St Mary's Bay - Brixham, TQ5 9QF - 

Just off the South West Coast Path is St Mary's Bay; Brixham's largest beach. This delightful secluded sand and shingle beach has interesting rock formations and is  surrounded by cliffs. From where you can enjoy panoramic views of the area from the coastal path overlooking the beach.

Fishcombe Cove - Brixham, TQ5 8RB

The beautiful little shingle beach of Fishcombe on the outskirts of Brixham is a quiet, peaceful little cove surrounded on all sides by tall cliffs and wooded hillsides. The beach is very sheltered and an idyllic spot if you want to escape the crowds of Brixham town with a small alfresco beach hut cafe.

Churston Cove - Brixham, TQ5 8AY 

Churston Cove is a scenic, shingle and rock beach with a crystal clear sea that's surrounded by spectacular wooded scenery and cliffs. The entrance to Brixham Harbour is also visible from the beach, complementing the beautiful natural scenery, without affecting the natural charm of the cove.

Broadsands Beach - Paignton, TQ4 6LL

Broadsands is a beautiful long sandy beach in an idyllic rural setting with a  gently sloping gradient. At low tide interesting rock pools are exposed at the southern end of the beach and there are good views of the Dartmouth Steam Railway, which crosses two Brunel viaducts near the beach. The long promenade provides a level walk to both ends of the beach and has brightly colourful beach huts that you can hire out for the day.  


Goodrington Sands - Paignton, TQ4 6LN

Beautiful Goodrington with its long, sandy beach is set in a wonderfully attractive, sheltered bay. With a seaside award there's lots of great activities. You’ll love the picturesque steam train running close behind the gentle curve of gaily-painted beach huts. There’s also a splendid promenade, boating lake, Rock Walk Gardens, a large waterpark and a range of kiosks and eateries.

Early risers won’t want to miss the opportunity to get a fascinating insight into behind the scenes operations at England’s largest fish market. The tours are very popular and with a maximum of only 20 people for each session.

Greenway

Agatha Christie described Greenway as “the loveliest place in the world”. It was here that she had her holiday home, on the banks of the River Dart. The house is filled with important and varied collections including first editions of her novels and home to archaeological artefacts. From walled gardens to riverside woodland, the informal garden at Greenway is very relaxed and tranquil. There are hidden gems to discover, views to admire and places to relax. 

Nature

Berry Head National Nature Reserve

Gillard Rd, Brixham TQ5 9AP

This stunning headland, with its iconic lighthouse and Napoleonic Fort, is surrounded by water on three sides and offers exceptional views across Torbay and beyond. The headland towers 200 feet above the English Channel protecting what was an important naval anchorage during the Napoleonic War. There are two garrisoned forts (dating back to 1795) that were built to protect Brixham Harbour from the perceived threat of French Invasion. Battery Gardens

Fishcombe Road, Brixham, TQ5 8RU

Set across a 14 acre site Battery Gardens was first used in 1586 during the war between England and Spain. It has one of the most panoramic views in the Bay and is a great location to watch the annual English Riviera Air show. The gardens are a natural landscape of trees and grass, with footpaths throughout the park, it is a great place to walk in all seasons. Battery Gardens are so named as this area was once a World War II Battery point. Around the gardens can be seen various emplacements, abandoned bunkers andis also host to the Brixham Battery Museum.

Lupton House

Brixham Road, Churston Ferrers, TQ5 0LD

Lupton House is a Grade II building set in beautiful parkland on the outskirts of Brixham. To the south of the main house there is a formal Italianate Garden also listed. The Coach House is now a delightful café. Lupton House host a number of workshops, events, festivals and e a thriving centre for the community.
